“Exhibition of Posters Donated by Professor Erik Bruun”

Visual Identity Design for the “Exhibition of Posters Donated by Professor Erik Bruun” to the Iranian Graphic Design Museum

Studio Gaph – May 2021

For the design of the exhibition poster, we used one of Erik Bruun’s original works, replacing the central element with his signature. The poster’s layout incorporated nine flowers, inspired by Finland’s national emblem.

This project included the following items:
• Poster design
• Invitation card design
• Brochure design
• Exhibition statement design
• Social media posts and IGDS website banners

On Thursday, May 27, 2021, the exhibition of posters by Erik Bruun, the renowned Finnish graphic designer, was inaugurated at the Iranian Graphic Design Museum. The event was attended by Mr. Keijo Norvanto, Ambassador of Finland, and his wife Ms. Tia Norvanto, Majid Balouch, Director of the Iranian Graphic Design Museum, Fatemeh Karkeh abadi, Chair of the Iranian Graphic Designers Association, Mohsen Soleymani, Vice Chair, Mehrdokht Darabi, Secretary of the Association, Dr. Divsalar, Deputy Director of the Tehran Beautification Organization, Ebrahim Eskandari, Cultural Advisor to the Association and the Finnish Embassy, and Omid Khazra Jafari, Exhibition Curator.

At the opening ceremony, the Ambassador spoke about the significance of holding this exhibition, noting that “these posters are familiar to every Finnish person, as Mr. Bruun is Finland’s most celebrated graphic designer. Graphic design, however, is a universal language that transcends borders.”

He then read a short message written by Mr. Bruun specifically for this exhibition:

“I am very pleased to introduce Finland to the ancient and culturally rich country of Iran through the art of graphic design. It is a pity that I cannot be in Iran to personally experience this beautiful event.”

Following his remarks, the exhibition curator Omid Khazra Jafari introduced each of the works and their background. A book donated by Erik Bruun to the museum was unveiled, and a documentary about his life and career was screened in the museum’s theater hall.
