“Amia Art”

Logo Design Project of “Amia Art”

Studio Gaph – August 2024

Shima Amia is a renowned Iranian ceramic artist based in Muscat, Oman, where she operates her own pottery studio. Her works have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions across Oman and the Persian Gulf region, earning recognition for their artistic quality and craftsmanship.

In addition to her artistic practice, she conducts pottery workshops for participants of various age groups, ranging from young children to senior adults. Through these workshops, she introduces participants to the fundamentals of working with clay and the art of ceramics.

For this project, we designed a monogram based on the letter “A,” the initial of the Amia name. To reinforce the brand’s Iranian identity, the letterform was developed by drawing inspiration from the geometric forms and visual characteristics of ancient Persian cuneiform script.

The brand color palette was inspired by the golden sands of the deserts of Iran and the Persian Gulf region—tones that also evoke the natural color of pottery clay. This warm sandy hue was paired with a deep green, chosen as a reference to the lush forests of northern Iran, creating a visual balance between earth, nature, and cultural heritage.

The scope of our work for this project included:

. Brand research and concept development

. Monogram design

. Logo design

. Color palette development

. Visual identity design

. Brand guidelines and applications

The resulting identity reflects both the artist’s contemporary practice and her connection to Iranian cultural roots, while maintaining a refined and distinctive presence suitable for an international audience.
